Sandi Schmitt

Sandi Schmitt is running for Alderwoman in Ward 5, an open seat in the City of Aurora, Illinois. She was raised in nearby Wheaton, has lived on Aurora's West Side since 2005, and has called Ward 5 home since 2018.

She brings 20 years of project management experience to the job, including 17 at a global consulting firm. She stepped into semi-retirement to focus on family, including caring for her mother, and turned that time toward her neighborhood.

Sandi already serves her community as an elected commissioner on the Fox Valley Park District Board, District 1, with a term through April 2029. She says she would step down from the park board if elected to the City Council.
